Dear Star, My Wish is a personal journaling app: you write short diary entries against a night sky, and recent entries earn a small star. This policy explains what information the app touches, and — just as importantly — what it doesn't.
1. Information we collect
Your diary entries. The text you write, and the dates you write it against, are saved only in the app's local storage on your own device. We do not operate a server, and your entries are never uploaded, transmitted, or visible to us.
Language setting. Your chosen display language is saved locally on-device, the same way.
Advertising data, via Google AdMob. When you tap "edit" on a saved entry, the app may show an ad served by Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob's SDK collects device and advertising identifiers (such as your Google Advertising ID), general device information, and ad interaction data, and shares it with Google. We don't receive or store this data ourselves — it's handled entirely between your device and Google.
2. How it's used
Your diary entries are used for exactly one purpose: displaying them back to you inside the app. We have no other use for them, because we never see them in the first place.
Advertising data collected by AdMob is used by Google to select, deliver, and measure the ad shown when you edit an entry, per Google's advertising policies.
3. Sharing with third parties
The only third party involved in this app is Google AdMob, for showing the edit-screen ad described above. We don't sell data, run analytics, or share anything with anyone else — there's simply nothing on our side to share, since diary content never leaves your device.
Diary entries and your language setting live in the app's local storage on your device for as long as the app is installed. Deleting an entry in the app removes it immediately; uninstalling the app removes everything, since there is no copy anywhere else.
5. Your choices
Ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads, or reset your advertising ID, under your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by Android version).
Your diary. You can edit or delete any entry directly in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data.
Permissions. The app requests only internet access, needed to request and display ads. It does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, or storage.
6. Children's privacy
Dear Star, My Wish is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us using the details below and we'll address it.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the revised version at this same address. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
